It's hard to believe our little guy is almost 9 1/2 months already!! He turned 9 months on 2-15. His new milestones include crawling (with tummy off the floor, although he still loves his "army" crawl), pulling self up (on everything!), taking a couple of steps while holding on to furniture, and feeding himself soft chopped up foods (his favorite is Gerber Puffs and bananas)...still no teeth! All of the pictures are in chronological order, so the most recent ones are at the end. We're SLOWLY getting settled in our house...trying to paint with a little one to look after is easier said than done...but we're making very slow progress while still enjoying time with Noah!

A couple of weeks ago, we had the first few sunny days of the year...and although it was still kinda chilly, I couldn't help but go outside and soak up some sun while pulling some weeds. So I got Noah bundled in his Tigger outfit and snapped a few pics of him being a little goof before getting started!

Noah came down with a pretty nasty cold a couple of weeks ago. He was doing a little bit better by Valentine's Day so we decided to give him some yogurt for the first time as a special treat for breakfast. He's at that age where he can start having yogurt and cheese. So we gave him some for breakfast and Andy went to change his diaper an hour or so later and noticed 15-20 small red bumps on his tummy and chest. My first thought was he could possibly have a dairy allergy.
We watched the rash spread before our eyes the next couple of hours all over his body, to where some spots blended together to become one red sheet. We decided to take him to urgent care (it was on a Sunday...what a special Valentine's :-))...the doctor there just said it was contact dermatitis, a mild allergy to a new soap or lotion, and to just give him some benadryl. Long story short, I was not okay with that...I knew it couldn't be that because he had not been exposed to any new topicals, and it seemed to be spreading everywhere so fast. I took him to his pediatrician the next day and he was diagnosed with erythema multiforme...
This diagnosis could be further broken down into "minor" or "major". Thank the Lord Noah just had "minor". It could be caused by bacteria, a virus, or a reaction to medication. Noah's was viral, possibly caused by his cold (RSV). It started with a few spots that eventually, over a day, spread to his entire body looking like red sheets in certain spots, then made it's way out of his system and was gone! "Major" is otherwise known as "Steven-Johnson's Syndrome", which can have devastating effects and sometimes the child is treated as a burn victim.
We had a day or two of being pretty scared because we weren't sure at first if it was going to keep progressing or not. Again, thank God it didn't and he's now as healthy as can be!!!

Notice the red "sheet" on his neck...eventually his whole body looked like this, different areas at a time. By the time his neck was better, his stomach looked like this...by the time his stomach was better, his legs looked like this, etc.Thank God he is all better!!!!
On a lighter note...:-) The next section of pictures were taken the day after Noah's 9 month birthday, what a cute and active little boy he is!! He sure keeps us busy, we have so much fun playing! We have the ladder in the living room because we've been moving it to different areas to paint, and Noah decided he likes climbing on it. :-)
